Wellbeing · in the pet profile

How your pet is doing today,
read calmly.

Every day you log five simple signals —energy, appetite, stool, mood and hydration— and PawBook gives you back a calm reading of the day, with its history and its trends. It doesn't diagnose or alarm: it helps you observe with perspective and know what's worth looking at calmly.

What it is

The daily log of how they're doing

Wellbeing lives inside your pet's profile. Each day you mark five simple signals —energy, appetite, stool, mood and hydration—, each on a clear five-level scale, and PawBook gives you back a calm reading of the day. A local rules engine turns those signals into a careful reading, saves the day to the history and charts the trends. It doesn't diagnose or replace your vet: it only helps you observe with perspective and know what's worth looking at calmly. And you can follow each pet's wellbeing separately from the "Wellbeing readings" screen.

Capabilities

Everything it brings each day

A routine of under a minute that makes sense over time.

Five signals a day

You log energy, appetite, stool, mood and hydration in seconds, each on a five-level scale —from "very low" to "elated", from "diarrhea" to "hard"— with an optional note.

The day's reading

A short, warm interpretation sums up the day in "What matters most today", with its rating and status, laid out as Today's reading, Context, Reminders and Recent logs.

Local, transparent engine

The reading is computed with our own rules on your device, not with a model that invents text. And in "How it was calculated" you can always see what each day is based on.

Weighted reading

It turns the five signals into a nuanced reading: eating or drinking to excess, or hard stool, never count as "better" than normal.

Health context

It cross-references the day with weight, recent vaccines, active treatments and open follow-ups. They appear as context to read the day better, never changing the rating.

Full status and reminders

A day summary brings together wellbeing, meals, symptoms and medication, and flags pending doses or an upcoming vaccine so nothing slips by.

The day's reading

Five signals, one calm reading

Mark the day's five values and save; PawBook instantly generates "What matters most today". Everything stays grouped so today doesn't mix with the past: the day's reading, the health context, the reminders and the recent logs, each in its place.

  • Energy, appetite, stool, mood and hydration
  • The day's rating and status, with an optional note
  • When several signals dip, the reading is more sensitive

You always know what it's based on

Nothing is a black box. "How it was calculated" breaks down today's observed values, the planned care routines and the medical context that accompanies the reading. Health context helps interpret the day, but never raises or lowers the rating: only your signals count toward the score.

  • Observed values, routines and medical care
  • Local, deterministic rules, no generative AI
  • Context accompanies; it doesn't diagnose or change the score

The evolution makes sense

Every saved day stays in the wellbeing history, and in "Trends" you see where each signal —and the whole picture— is heading over the last 30 days, with a calendar that colors each day as Good, Fair or Watch. What looks like "an odd day" today makes sense in perspective —and helps you tell the vet what you've observed at home.

Wellbeing organizes what you observe with a local rules engine — it doesn't use generative AI, doesn't diagnose or replace your vet, and the values are entered by you, not a sensor. Your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud.
